Book Review #166 - The Girl in the Clockwork Collar (Steampunk Chronicles #2) by Kady Cross

The Girl in the Clockwork Collar (Steampunk Chronicles, #2)

In New York City, 1897, life has never been more thrilling - or dangerous.

Sixteen-year-old Finley Jayne and her "straynge band of mysfits" have journeyed from London to America to rescue their friend Jasper, hauled off by bounty hunters. But Jasper is in the clutches of a devious former friend demanding a trade-the dangerous device Jasper stole from him...for the life of the girl Jasper loves.

One false move from Jasper and the strange clockwork collar around Mei's neck tightens. And tightens.

My Rating: 4/5

I received this book for review from Netgalley.

I was really excited to read this book because the first book ended with a huge cliff hanger.

I liked how the book changed its setting from London in the first book to New York in the sequel as I love any book that it set in New York.

The characters from the first book aside from Finley, Griffin and Jasper were only in the background. The chemistry between Finley and Griffin finally progressed.

  1. I loved getting to visit this steampunk New York since most of the steam punk I've read has been in London-it was cool to see how Cross envisioned NYC.

  2. Haven't heard of this until now. Thanks.
